GoCamps
As part of the Year of English Language in Ukraine, the NGO GoGlobal has teamed up with the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine, Microsoft and other partners to design a new format of children's school day camps focusing on English. The project is called GoCamps.
The project organizers want to show kids that learning a language is easy and that summer camp can be fun. One of the special features of GoCamps is that foreign volunteers will be invited.
More than 3,000 schools across Ukraine have tentatively agreed to organize language camps and some 150 will be given the status of GoCamps based on the results of a competition.
«Currently, only a limited circle of children have access to modern language camps because of their exclusivity and because many parents can't afford to send their children to language camps abroad. That's why we decided to organize such camps in Ukraine and make them more accessible to everyone. This summer, for the first time a large number of children will be able to experience a true modern summer vacation. The 'GoCamps' projects will be implemented together with the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and other partners – businesses, NGOs and international partners. The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine has agreed to provide volunteers and teachers with the necessary teaching materials and plans, and to hold a series of special trainings,” say GoGlobal.
The first step will be the creation by project partner Microsoft of a specialized website that will function as an information center. The site will have all the necessary methodological information, including lesson plans, handouts and other teaching materials, licensed videos and cartoons - all available for download. Foreign volunteers – native speakers, will also work at GoCamps. They will assist teachers with educational and recreational activities, games and sports.

Інструкція: «Я називаю команди по-англійськи, а
ви їх виконуйте. Але є одна умова: якщо я ввічливо попрошу вас зробити команду,
наприклад, «Please run», то ви її виконуєте, а якщо слово «please» я не скажу,
то ви нічого не робите. Будьте уважні!»
2. Гра (на закріплення структури «I can.....»
Ведучий рахує до п'яти: «One, two, three, four,
five!» Потім каже : «Stop!» Під час рахунка діти виконують довільні рухи, а на
«Stop!» завмирають. Після цього ведучий «оживляє» гравців. Він по черзі
підходить до кожної дитини і запитує : « What can you do?». Дитина «відмирає»,
відповідаючи: «I can run»- зображує потрібну дію.
3. « Веселий рахунок»
М'яч передається по колу на рахунок: one! Two!
Three! Four! Five! Good-bye! Вибуває той, у кого м'яч опинився у руку на
«Good-bye». Гра триває до тих пір, поки з усіх гравців залишиться один. Який і
стане переможцем.
4. «Хто ти?»
Гравці загадують професію. Ведучий кидає м'яч
кожному гравцеві і питає «Are you a cook?». Якщо гравець загадав цю професію,
він відповідає: «Yes» , якщо ні, то «No».
5. «Коридор»
Попросіть дітей розбитися на пари, взятися за
руки, встати пара за парою і підняти високо над головою сполучені кисті рук,
утворивши «коридор».
Ведучий повинен пройти по «коридору» і вибрати
одного з гравців в будь-якій парі, спитати його, хто він (Who are you?) і як
його звуть (What is your name?).
Дитина повинна відповісти: «I am a girl/a boy. My
name is .....). Потім їде каже:
«Йди сюди!» (« Come here!»)- і бере гравця за руку. Дитина відповідає: «Із
задоволенням!» («With pleasure!»). Після цього по «коридору» проходить нова
пара і встає після решти гравців. Новим ведучим стає той, хто залишився без
пари.
6. « Маленьке колечко» («Little ring»)
Ведучий ховає монетку між долонями. Діти стають
півколом, складаючи долоні разом. Ведучий підходить до кожному гравцеві і каже,
розсовуючи своїми долонями його долоні: «Please!» Гравець повинен відповісти:
«Thank you!» Обійшовши всіх і непомітно віддавши монетку одному з дітей,
ведучий просить: «Little ring! Come here!» Гра триває: тепер керувати буде той,
хто вибіг з півкола з монеткою в долонях.
7. «Зіпсований телефон»
Діти сидять, утворюючи півколо. Того, хто сидить
з краю, ведучий говорить англійське слово (згідно пройденої або досліджуваної
теми). Слово передається на вухо одному. Якщо останній гравець сказав слово,
яке загадав ведучий, значить «не зіпсований телефон».
8. «Читай по губах»
Ведучий вимовляє англійські слова без голосу.
Гравці повинні дізнатися слово по руху губ ведучого.
9.«Їстівне-неїстівне»
Ведучий називає слово по-англійськи і кидає м'яч
дитині. Малюк повинен упіймати м'яч, якщо слово позначає предмет їстівний. Якщо
ж слово позначає неїстівний предмет, м'яч ловити не потрібно.
10.«Хто в мішку?»
Ведучий складає іграшки в мішок. Потім підносить
до кожного гравця. Дитина запускає руку в мішок, і навпомацки відгадує, що це
за предмет. Каже: «It is a....»Потім дістає з мішка, і всі дивляться, чи
правильно він назвав.
11. «Чого не вистачає?» («What's the missing?»)
Ведучий розставляє іграшки. Просить дітей
назвати їх і запам'ятати і по команді «Close your eyes!» закрити очі. Потім
прибирає одну з іграшок і по команді «Open your eyes!» просить дітей відкрити
очі і вгадати, якої іграшки не вистачає.
12.«Піжмурки».
Діти стоять у колі. Ведучому зав'язують очі.
Один з гравців виходить або ховається. Ведучому розв'язують очі і питають:
«Look at us and say who has run away?» . Ведучий відповідає : «Світла».
13.Сюжетно-рольова гра «У магазині» («In the
shop»)
Діти розбиваються на роль продавця і покупця.
Продавець розкладає продукти і зустрічає покупців.

-Here you are.
-Thank you.
-My pleasure.
14. «Светофорчики»
Ведучий і діти стають один навпроти одного на
деякій відстані. Ведучий по-англійськи називає колір.
Діти повинні знайти у себе на одязі колір,
зазначений провідним, продемонструвати цей колір і пройти на бік ведучого.
Той, у кого не виявиться потрібного кольору, має
на рахунок one, two, three! Перебігти на протилежний бік. Якщо ведучий спіймає
когось із дітей, то спійманий і стає ведучим.
15.«Ехо»
Відвернувшись убік, виразним голосом учитель
вимовляє вивчені слова. Діти, як луна, повторює кожне слово слідом за вчителем.
16.«English-Russian»
Якщо вчитель називає англійське слово, то діти
плескають.
Якщо російське-то не плескають. (Гру доцільно
проводити на початковому етапі вивчення англійської мови).
17.Игра «Make an animal» («Перетворися на
тварина»)
За сигналом учителя всі діти розбігаються по
класу. На сигнал: «Make an animal!» (бавовна в долоні) всі гравці зупиняються
на місці, де їх застала команда та приймає якусь позу тварини.
Вчитель, підходячи до дітей, запитує: «Who are
you?» Дитина відповідає: «i'm a cat» .
18. Гра на закріплення структур: «It is cold
(warm, hot).» (Холодно, тепло, спекотно)
Ведучому пропонується відвернутися або ненадовго
вийти за двері. У цей час гравці ховають в кімнаті який-небудь предмет,
попередньо показавши його ведучому. Коли захований предмет, провідний входить
(повертається) і починає шукати його. Гравці ж підказують ведучому
по-англійськи, далеко чи близько він є від захованого предмету. При цьому
використовуються вирази «it's cold (warm, hot).»
19.Игра «Вгадай, чий голос» (закріплення
займенників he/she)
Ведучий повертається спиною до гравців. Хтось з
гравців вимовляє фразу по-англійськи (фраза підбирається щодо пройденої теми),
а ведучий відгадує, хто її вимовив: «She is Sveta. He is Misha)
20.Игра «Хованки»
Діти закривають очі. Ведучий ховає іграшку за
спиною. Діти відкривають очі і задають питання ведучому, намагаючись відгадати,
кого він заховав: «Is it a bear/ a frog/a mouse?» А ведучий відповідає:
«Yes/No» Той, хто відгадав йде водити наступним.
21.«Встаньте ті, хто....»
Вчитель говорить фразу : «Stand up, who.....(has
a sister/brother is 5/6/7, likes ice cream/ fish, can/can't swim/fly». Учні
встають зі стільця в залежності від команди.
22.Угадай: хто він (вона)?
Вибирається ведучий з числа дітей. Грають
називають ознаки одягу, за якими можна вгадати загаданого дитини. She has a
grey sweater. Ведучий запитує: " Is it Sveta?
23. "What is missing"
На килимі розкладаються картки зі словами, діти
їх називають. Вчитель дає команду: "Close your eyes!" і прибирає 1-2
картки. Потім дає команду: "Open your eyes!" і ставить питання:
"What is missing?" Діти згадують зниклі слова.
24. "Pass the card"
Діти розсаджуються півколом і передають один
одному картку, називаючи її. Попередньо слово називає вчитель. Для ускладнення
завдання діти можуть вимовляти : "I have a..."/ "I have a... and
a...".
25. «Заборонені руху»
На початку гри ведучий задає команду, яку не
